A co-op needed 8 new four-bedroom houses for rent to Bengali extended families, but also wanted them all designed to be split into two maisonettes in future as the community’s needs change. For now, the houses meet Muslim cultural requirements through separate sitting rooms for women and men, and bathrooms with arrangements for washing in running water.
