Community advice

In the last few years, an increasing proportion of Survey & Design Partnership’s work has been in giving advice (often unpaid) to community groups, community centres and individuals wanting to set up new community activities.
So we’ve set up a not-for-profit arm of Survey & Design Partnership in order to reflect this trend in the way we run our practice.

Survey & Design Community Advice will provide low-cost advice to any community activity or organisation. Our fee will be based on our basic overhead costs (office space and professional indemnity insurance) plus a nominal salary based on the national average income. Please contact us for further details.

Recent projects

The Hill Station cafe  A community initiative on Telegraph Hill in New Cross decided to build a cafe in an unused part of the community centre. In close consultation with the group we developed a design and specified the works.

Then we tendered the groundworks, administrated that contract and worked with community volunteers on the fitting out of the space. The Hill Station is now a thriving cafe/restaurant, gallery and event space. We are currently working on extending it.
