What we do | CONSERVATION PROJECTS

MYDDLETON ROAD, HARINGEY, LONDON N22

The front elevations and shop fronts in one of the borough’s most beautiful historic shopping streets have been repaired and restored.

Recent aluminium and UPVC windows were replaced with traditional double-glazed sash windows to match the original designs. Damaged bricks were replaced, and moulded brick bands carefully repaired. The flat roofs over the shops were repaired or replaced. Most importantly, the modern aluminium shopfronts to three of the buildings were completely replaced with traditional timber shop fronts that were designed taking cues from remaining features and historic photographs. The shop window, brass stall riser and the decorative tiles to No. 123 were thoroughly repaired and restored.

Funding came from from the Council, Historic England and a small contribution from the shopkeepers.
